It all began in 1958 when the Paschalidis brothers, armed with knowledge, limited experience but lot of passion, laid the foundations for a pioneering venture for its time—a factory in Athens dedicated to manufacturing rubber components for brake systems suitable for both light and heavy vehicles. By 1960, GRANTEX swiftly made its mark in the Greek market and simultaneously expanded its reach into foreign markets, achieving an impressive export rate of around 20%, primarily targeting Turkey and the Balkans.

In 1964, the restless and creative spirit of the company's founders prompted them to pivot towards the production and development of friction materials, brake linings and disc brakes, marking the end of rubber component production. Their instinct proved to be spot-on as GRANTEX embarked on a dynamic and successful journey.

Production flourished at a rapid pace, now encompassing a wide array of friction materials suitable not only for vehicles but also for machinery, as well as for industrial and maritime applications. The year 1971 proved to be auspicious for GRANTEX, which developed a strong competitive profile.

In 1984, the company made its debut at Automechanika Frankfurt, the largest international exhibition for the automotive industry, OEM spare parts, and repair shop equipment. GRANTEX confidently stood alongside leading global companies, making its presence felt and paving new paths for future development. Every innovation driving the automotive sector is showcased at Automechanika, and GRANTEX has participated successfully for 40 years!

In 1994, GRANTEX intensified its activities in the marketing, manufacturing, and assembly of spare parts for heavy-duty vehicles, collaborating with both Greek and European companies.

Having solidified its position, GRANTEX expanded in 1997 to better serve its customers, establishing four new branches in Aspropyrgos, Paiania, Patras, and Thessaloniki, while simultaneously bolstering its Sales Department with a strong team of experienced sales personnel.

In 2000, the company upgraded its certification to ISO 9001, extending its coverage to all functions, including the development and design of new products and marketing of brake system spare parts.

In 2000, the second generation of the Paschalidis family took over of the company, injecting new energy into its operations. Their vision for renewal was embodied in the decision to modernize the factory with the installation of high-tech machinery, which propelled production to new heights.

Demonstrating a commitment to actively protecting the environment and conserving natural resources, GRANTEX implemented a clear and comprehensive environmental policy, adhering to strict operating rules across all its activities and departments.

In 2008, GRANTEX invested in a new automated production line for disc brakes, enhancing the factory's capabilities and significantly increasing productivity and capacity. Concurrently, a noteworthy rise in the production of thermosets was observed, thanks to corresponding investments in mechanical equipment.

With a commitment to high-quality production, GRANTEX successfully established itself in both the Greek and international markets. The company boasts a dynamic presence in the global arena, exporting 80% of its production to 78 countries worldwide and following an upward trajectory.

As part of its dynamic and growth-oriented trajectory in both domestic and international markets, GRANTEX refreshed its corporate identity by adopting a new logo after 15 years. This change reflects the company's modernization, with the new logo retaining the name GRANTEX to honor its history while presenting a modern aesthetic. .

On July 6, GRANTEX was certified for its environmental management system in accordance with the ISO 14001:2015 standard by the international certification body TÜV Nord. On the same date, the company was re-certified for its quality system under the new ISO 9001:2015 standard. In a related evaluation by TÜV Nord, GRANTEX's quality system ranked among the best in 2018.

To commemorate its 60th anniversary, GRANTEX launched the new Premium disc brake (CV-104), the result of extensive laboratory research and years of expertise. The Premium disc brake (CV-104) offers exceptional durability, consistent performance, a smooth feel, quiet braking, and an extended lifespan. Its first presentation abroad took place at the Automechanika international exhibition in Istanbul.

GRANTEX invested in new machinery for thermoset production, enhancing both efficiency and quality. This advanced technology installation contributes to increased production capacity, delivering improved products with greater durability and excellent performance.

GRANTEX is investing in expanding its facilities and modernizing its mechanical equipment. The new production line for disc brakes for light and heavy vehicles features new automated machines, optical systems, and state-of-the-art robots. This strategic upgrade will boost production capacity while enhancing the precision and quality of products, further strengthening GRANTEX's position in the international market, making it more competitive, efficient, and adaptable to current and future demands.
